Simply Stacked Vintage Bench Shelves

Image

I love this idea for repurposing distressed, vintage benches. BHG.com has awesome ideas on DIY which is where I found this great look.  Simply stack benches and add your own fabulous finds.  They did attach them to the wall for safety.

You can also get this look by stacking  rectangular coffee and end tables. I can’t wait to try this!

Organize and Store Electrical Cords
Keep unruly cords organized by using media boxes that are divided into cubbies with scraps of cardboard. Label each section so you won’t confuse cords, and decorate the cardboard with scrapbook paper to keep your space looking chic.

This  great idea came from an HGTV.com blog. I have bins of cords that need to be organized so I’m looking forward to completing this project.

Simple Scrapbook Frame Upcycle

On one of my visits to a thrift store I found several of these great wooden, distressed, framed signs for only $2.99 each.

There were six of them so I bought all of them, not sure what I was going to do with them. At first I thought I would find a place to hang them in my apartment, but something about them wasn’t quite right. The printed sign inside the frames begin to appear cheesy and out-dated, so I decided to use them for picture frames and painted them black. Using my scrap booking supplies and pictures of my children, I’ve turned two of them into a simple framed, scrapbook collage.

I have four more to go. I’ll keep you posted.

Repurpose CD’s as Party Invitations

I found a simple way to make unique party or wedding invitations using cd’s and labels. Print or order labels, attach them to a cd and mail them out to friends and family.
I purchased a huge stack of cd’s, five years ago, with every intention of using them ALL by burning all of my favorite songs on to them. Of course, like many of you, I still have a pile of them stacked next to my computer, and what a great way to make use of them.
There are labels you can purchase and print anything you want on to them, then just peel and stick to your cd. You can also order cd labels online with different themes some of which are shown here. If your ambitious enough add songs that coordinate with your party theme.
Simple, easy and great way to repurpose those left-over cd’s!
