I have plenty of shoes that I can’t use because they have a broken strap or buckle to r just don’t fit anymore. I can’t donate them so I scoured the internet for ideas to use and share of course.

When I saw this sad, lonely china cabinet sitting in a thrift store for only $19 my eyes widened and my heart started racing. You all know that feeling when you find a diamond in the rough for next to nothing! I scooped it up and took it home and went to work. My new small kitchen in my old historic home was short a pantry so I knew this would come in handy.
First the doors came off. They were missing the glass and I wanted open shelving so I didn’t have to fight for my food because that would make me angry. I added chicken wire to the sides, again missing glass, to contain my bags and boxes of goodies. A couple of coats of white chalk paint, some baskets and pails, and there it was. My answer to all of my cannned and dried food storage problems and it hides some small appliances underneath too. Petite but sweet!
Shutter Makeover
I found this poor shutter in a pile of garbage and saved it from a landfill. It was missing some slats so I removed the entire middle portion and cleaned it up. After adding a light layer of colorful chalk paint, I tried adding some chicken wire. Unfortunately I could’t find an easy way to keep the end from being exposed which can be painful if your fingers catch it just right. So instead I took some twine and stapled it across the inside edges and added some cute little clothes pins I purchased at my local craft store. Another creative way to display your favorite memories.

With fall and cooler weather right around the corner I started to get excited about decorating for the holidays. Unfortunately Its a little too early to pull out the Christmas decor, (I had to talk myself out of it) so I decided to go to work on a fall wreath and found these great ideas on bhg.com.
