Reupholstered Redmond Sewing Box

I fell in love with this vintage sewing box box at a thrift shop. The beautiful vinyl cover has pictures of men and women that appear to be dancing. It has a faux embroidered appearance and four turned wooden legs.

The bad news was that after I took it home I found a hole in the top. I hated to do it but I carefully removed the vinyl and replaced it with a modern, geometric patterned fabric. I saved the trim and replaced it. You’ll probably find the vinyl repurposed in another one of my projects.

"Go get 'em" Wall Badge

I found this inspirational metal sign on Joanna Gaines blog from HGTV’s Fixer Upper show. It’s simple, sweet and perfect for a young person’s bedroom. It’s on sale on her website at Magnolia Market. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Paint Pen DIY Wall Art

This was really easy if you have a talent for sketching or recreating your favorite picture silhouette syle. I found a wildflower photo on the Internet, drew it with a pencil then went over my sketch with a black paint pen on a 24″x24″ piece of wood I purchased at Home Depot.

My favorite grey wood stain was added and a wood border painted black and tacked on with nails and wood glue. The grain of the wood is highlighted beautifully when a light stain is applied to natural wood.

I also found an adorable Paris painting on the Pottery Barn website and created my own version. The two red umbrellas were added with paint and I painted the edges black to give it a finished look.
